Your Pregnancy

The Physicians and Nurse practitioners at Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialists want to help you to have a safe, healthy, and rewarding pregnancy. We offer a prenatal class to provide information regarding nutrition, testing, frequently asked questions, and our routine prenatal care policies and procedures.

During the course of your prenatal care a representative of our business office will contact you to discuss your prenatal care benefits. Your prenatal care and delivery will be billed as a global package. This package includes routine prenatal visits, urinalysis, vaginal delivery, and post-partum hospital and office visits. There are some additional charges that are not included in the global package. These include, but are not limited to, the the procedures listed below.

Procedures not included in global obstetrical package:

  • Initial physician office visit
  • Amniocentesis
  • Hospitalization prior to delivery
  • Ultrasounds
  • Cesarean section
  • Non-stress test
  • Urine culture
  • Hemoglobins
  • Triple test or AFP
  • Prenatal blood profile
  • Pap smear
  • Non-obstetrical office visits
  • One hour & three hour glucose
  • RhoGam

You will receive a separate billing for any of the above services. These charges should be paid within 30 days of receipt of statement.

As a courtesy, a representative of our business office will contact your insurance company to verify your coverage for the global obstetrical fee. This allows us to determine your responsibility. Our business office representative will send you a written statement of the amount for which you are responsible. This amount should be paid in full by your eighth month. Questions regarding your coverage for additional services or hospitalization should be directed to your insurance company. If you do not have health insurance, the global fee and any additional charges should be paid in full by your eighth month. We will be happy to bill you in monthly installments for this amount.

If your insurance company requires precertification for your hospital stay, we will begin the process when we verify your benefits. You or family members are responsible, however, for notifying your insurance company at the time of your admission to the hospital.

We hope this information will help you to prepare and plan for your obstetrical care with our clinic. Please remember that we are here to assist you in any way possible.
